About MGR

Muslim Global Relief (MGR) is a well-respected registered UK charity set up in 2000 to help those most in need around the world, irrespective of creed, caste, colour or gender. Our projects are aimed for poverty alleviation whilst also promoting projects that facilitate integration, inclusion and moderation.

Our work has been focussed where the need is the greatest.  Whilst we have undertaken significant poverty reduction work abroad, MGR is also extending this to work where it is equally important - at home in the UK, through our ‘People’s Purse’ initiative. We aim to share lessons and good practice throughout our interventions.

Inspired by the spirit of selflessness and caring for humanity without discrimination, our aim has been to reach out to those communities that find it most difficult to receive help, and are most vulnerable to neglect and exclusion in a non-political, non-sectarian, non-religious and non-exclusionary manner.

Our motto is “bringing hope to life” which visibly translates the fact that we promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and disease.

MGR has provided immediate help in times of disaster whether caused by natural causes or conflict to help alleviate the suffering of the needy and destitute members of society anywhere in the world. MGR also helps rebuild local communities through our project ‘The People’s Purse’.

Over the years, Muslim Global Relief has relied upon the help, support and generosity of those people who believe in helping others. Continuing disasters and conflicts wreak havoc on the lives of so many innocent people and it is from the generosity of those who care that allows us to alleviate their other peoples suffering.

It is your kindness that has turned so many lives around, bringing smiles back to people’s faces, restoring their confidence, their independence and providing them with new opportunities.

Thank you for your generous support.

Sadly, the world today is one of social inequality where many people have access to ample supplies of food and water, access to good education, medical facilities, justice and independence. On the contrary, hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are dying needlessly due to avoidable disease, starvation, lack of healthcare and little or no clean drinking water. They have no access to the basic provisions for sustained life and more importantly, no opportunity to change their situation.

Throughout the world, Muslim Global Relief helps and supports these people and their communities, offering assistance to help them improve their living conditions according to their requirements. Every child wants an education and friendship and every woman wishes to have a healthy pregnancy and a stable family life, to live in a safe environment and have opportunities to empower herself and her community. Every man longs for a normal life and to provide for himself and his family with adequate food, shelter and healthcare. These underprivileged people look forward to any hope brought to them that could fulfil their dreams and aspirations.
